Ganeshotsav 2025 – A Grand Success at Sector 16A, Vashi

Navi Mumbai: The Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal, Sector 16A – Vashi celebrated its 41st year of Ganeshotsav with unmatched devotion, enthusiasm, and a powerful social message. Widely known by the slogan “Ganraj of Vashi, King of Navi Mumbai,” the mandal once again lived up to its reputation of blending tradition with innovation.
Eco-friendly Idol Steals the Show

This year, the mandal unveiled a 10-feet tall idol of Lord Ganesha, uniquely crafted entirely out of old newspapers, symbolizing its commitment to an eco-friendly celebration. Designed by renowned sculptor Pratik Pawar, the idol was not only visually appealing but also light in weight, so much so that just four individuals could easily lift it – a true example of creativity and sustainability.
Theme: Save Wildlife – Save Jungle

The highlight of the festival was the grand jungle safari décor built on the theme “Save Wildlife – Save Jungle.” The display was created in two sections –

The first section gave visitors a lifelike experience of animals in their natural habitat.

The second section delivered a thought-provoking message that if forests and wildlife are not preserved today, future generations will know animals only through cartoons.

The spectacular set design, executed by Chandrashekhar Parab, drew thousands of visitors and received appreciation for its realism and social relevance.

Social and Cultural Initiatives

Alongside the festivities, the mandal continued its tradition of community service by organizing several impactful initiatives:

Free health and eye check-up camps

Blood donation drives

Self-defense training sessions for women

Cultural and talent competitions to encourage women and children

Spiritual programs that brought the community together

These initiatives ensured that the celebration was not just about devotion but also about giving back to society.

Leadership and Contribution

The success of this year’s Ganeshotsav was made possible under the guidance and active contribution of Mr. Vijay Walunj, Mr. Ajay Walunj, and Mrs. Anjali Walunj, who played an important role in planning, organizing, and bringing the community together for this grand celebration.
A Blend of Devotion, Awareness, and Culture

Over the ten days, the mandal witnessed thousands of devotees who came not only to seek blessings but also to appreciate the creativity and social responsibility reflected in the celebrations. The successful completion of the festival reinforced the mandal’s reputation as one of Navi Mumbai’s most respected Ganeshotsav organizers.

Ganeshotsav 2025 at Sector 16A, Vashi, thus concluded on a high note – a festival where faith met awareness, culture met creativity, and devotion met duty.
